JobKeeper Update - JobKeeper Extended

I took a break last week from sending out further information, it was a massive week for us and we were deep in Job Keeper, we are managing hundreds of our clients applications. One big surprise is how quickly the ATO responded and literally thousands of dollars in Cash Boost payments were paid, the system seems to be working.
In other good news based on the activity last week, there are some changes to the Job Keeper Stimulus which are really positive around extensions.
These are now:
- Enrol by 31 May 2020 to receive reimbursement back to fortnight 1 of the JobKeeper Payment (starting 30th March), so you will therefore be reimbursed for all of April.
- If you need to make top up payments to be able to meet the conditions of $1,500 per fortnight to employees you now have until 8th May to make those top up payments and still receive reimbursement back to 30 March.
This may also give business more time to ensure their downturn in April is consistent with their predictions but more importantly give the ATO time to get more detail out about the Alternate tests, Labour Hire entities and make some additional changes that have been announced but are not reflected on the ATO advice and website.
